Privacy Policy

Nouri ("we", "the extension") is a Chrome extension that personalizes internet content to your knowledge level across LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and YouTube. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What We Collect

We do NOT store the text of posts you read. When you use the "Adapt" feature on a post, we process the text temporarily to generate a personalized insight. Only the following is stored:

• Concept references - Which concepts (from our knowledge domains) were mentioned in the post. Not the post text itself.
• Your knowledge profile - A confidence score (0-1) for concepts across your subscribed domains (AI/LLM, Startups, Web Dev, Marketing, and more), updated through calibration and engagement.
• Calibration responses - Your "Too Basic" / "Just Right" / "Too Advanced" feedback on each insight.
• Engagement data - Which concept explanations you viewed and follow-up questions you asked, used to update your knowledge profile.
• Usage counts - How many adaptations you've used today (for the daily limit).
• Authentication data - Your email address and Google account ID for sign-in.

Browser History Access

Nouri requests the history permission to offer an optional browser history import feature. This feature:

• Only runs when you explicitly click "Scan Last 30 Days" in Settings.
• Filters your history to relevant learning domains (tech blogs, documentation, etc.) on your device.
• Sends only page titles (not URLs or page content) to our server for knowledge inference.
• Does NOT continuously monitor or store your browsing history.

What We Do NOT Collect

• The full text of any LinkedIn, X, or YouTube post
• Your browsing history (unless you explicitly use the import feature, and even then, only filtered page titles)
• Any data from pages other than LinkedIn, X, and YouTube
• Cookies from any website
• Your contacts, files, or other personal data

How We Use Your Data

• Quick Insights - Your knowledge profile is sent to our server to generate a personalized insight snippet for each post. The post text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis but is not stored on our servers.
• Signal scoring - Concept matching for post badges happens entirely on your device using a cached concept list. No post text is sent to any server for scoring.
• Knowledge graph updates - Your calibration feedback and concept engagement automatically update your knowledge profile for better personalization.

Third-Party Services

• Supabase (supabase.com) - Hosts our database and authentication. Your knowledge profile and calibration data are stored in Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy
• Anthropic (anthropic.com) - Provides the Claude AI model for content rewriting. Post text is sent to Anthropic's API for processing but is not stored by us. Anthropic Privacy Policy
• Google - Used for OAuth sign-in. We receive your email and profile name only. Google Privacy Policy

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Supabase's managed PostgreSQL database with Row Level Security (RLS) enabled. Each user can only access their own data. Authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser's Chrome storage.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the extension's settings. Account deletion removes all your knowledge profile data, calibration history, and usage records.

Your Rights

• Access - View your knowledge profile and calibration history in the extension dashboard.
• Correction - Manually adjust your concept confidence scores.
• Deletion - Delete your account and all data from the settings page.
• Data portability - Contact us to request an export of your data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as we add features. Material changes will be communicated through the extension. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Data Sales and Transfers

We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties outside of the services described above. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or creditworthiness purposes.
